This call is intended for us to get to know each other a bit off the page and for me to walk you through the week-long upgrade process. This call is not intended for us to walk through the entire résumé because we do all that offline!

If we have nothing else, we’ll use your LinkedIn profile as a jumping-off point (to at least begin with a template). Then, we’ll build out a list of things you’ve done so I have a foundation to use for my questions.

On that note, while we don’t offer CV writing (CVs are more detailed documents for industries like academia and science), we can help you translate your experience from a CV to a solid résumé if you're transitioning into the corporate world!

We’ll talk about the nitty-gritty of it in our introductory call but I will say this: This piece of the process is where the rubber meets the road and requires involvement from you! While I will be the one re-crafting and editing your bullets, I need background information from you to set you up for success and highlight your accomplishments. If you cannot invest an hour or two into giving details into your work experience, this may not be the upgrade service for you. I can always rewrite without your input but truthfully, it’s always better with the color you can provide.

Each upgrade includes one upgraded résumé. Though I suggest having only one résumé highlighting all your great accomplishments, there are times when career transitions warrant an additional résumé. And, if you want another, we can make it work at a discounted rate.

Each package comes with a customizable cover letter template with prompts from me to help guide your thinking for each individual application.

Since you’ll want to target your letter to each role you’re applying to (with different information from your résumé), I include recommendations on how to customize it to help boost your cover letter writing chops.

While cover letters aren’t as requested (or read!) as much as they once were, it’s good to have one should you need it!

Your résumé will be delivered to you in a streamlined, executive-styled format. You are more than welcome to transfer the résumé content into a different style after the upgrade, if you prefer. Here are some things to remember:

This particular resume style has performed the best and continues to be tested regularly.

While more design-forward résumés may look beautiful, they were likely designed in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop and can work against you. They’re difficult for hiring managers to navigate and formatted in a way the ATS check algorithms cannot read, registering the customer as a lesser match for the job they apply to.

We never want to make it difficult or a chore for a recruiter or hiring manager to read through your experience. My goal is to make your résumé clear, concise, and a perfect marketing piece to support “landing the sale” (you!) in an interview.
